GUIDE TO SERVICES

The CWC is here to serve UF students.

CWC's counselors are here to support UF Students in their educational journey and to help them achieve their personal wellness goals along the way. Our primary commitment is to ensure that each student is connected with the best-fitting University or community resources to meet their needs.

CWC provides a variety of counseling services, including group, individual, and couples. We offer over 30 groups facilitated by 1-2 counselors and group counseling is the only ongoing counseling service available. CWC uses a short-term individual and couples counseling approach defined as a maximum of 12 sessions. You and your individual or couples’ counselor will evaluate whether you would need to use all of those sessions or less, based on your concern. To learn about receiving any of these services, you will participate in a 20-30 minute consultation meeting. .

Enrolled UF students are eligible for our services. Our services are covered by the student health fee. Learn more about eligibility & fees.

MORE ABOUT CRISIS SUPPORT

WHAT IS A CONSULTATION?

A consultation is not a counseling session; it is a structured 20-30 minute meeting to gather information about your situation and what CWC services would best fit your needs. During your consultation, we will suggest appropriate resources and next steps. We consider all the resources at the CWC to provide the best options for your unique situation.

Additionally, we may suggest other on-campus partners for resources such as coaching or tutoring, or off-campus providers when students could benefit from more specialized and/or longer-term care. If services and support in our off-campus network are best for your needs, we will provide you with information on these options.

BEFORE YOUR CONSULTATION

You will be asked to complete and submit multiple documents prior to your consultation. If you call to schedule a consultation appointment, the CWC will send the documents for you to complete via email. If you schedule a consultation appointment through Online Scheduling, you will receive the appropriate documents required for completion directly and must submit these forms before you arrive for your consultation appointment. Please have your Gator 1 ID on-hand throughout this process & during any appointments with us.

CONSULTATION SPECIALISTS

During your consultation, you will meet with one of the counselors that specialize in guiding students through identifying and accessing the best services for their needs.
