Professional Interests
I enjoy working with students from a variety of backgrounds to assist them in achieving their academic and personal goals. I commonly work with students who are experiencing anxiety or depression, are having difficulty with relationships, or are struggling to adjust to college life. I am interested in exploring ways technology can be used as a part of counseling in order to improve services.
Approach to Therapy
My approach to counseling is integrative, meaning that I use components of a variety of theoretical perspectives. I frequently incorporate a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) perspective which focuses on the way our ideas about ourselves, others, and the world around us influence our emotions and behaviors.
Approach to Wellness
My approach to wellness begins with being intentional in how I spend my time and where I focus my energy, keeping in perspective both short and long term personal and career goals. Areas that are important to me and contribute to my overall sense of wellness are: Engaging in meaningful work, connecting with others, and seeking personal growth opportunities.
