To continue providing quality mental health care to UF students during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Counseling and Wellness Center now offers short-term online counseling.

Additionally we continue to offer crisis support, consultation and referral, and workshops.

What is short-term online counseling?

In short-term online counseling, you meet via Zoom with a CWC provider, focusing on specific, manageable goals. For example, learning coping skills for times of uncertainty, developing self-help strategies for anxiety, or determining academic priorities while living at home. We recommend you think about some specific, manageable goals prior to starting online counseling.

All sessions are conducted via Zoom in a private and secure setting. Follow this link to learn about using Zoom at UF.

Call the CWC at 352-392-1575 to arrange a brief consultation, for help connecting to CWC and/or community counseling resources.

Online Counseling FAQs

To ensure that the CWC can offer online counseling services to as many UF students as possible, we operate on a short-term counseling model.

If you or your counselor think you need additional services, we will work with you to provide those services or connect you to someone in the community who can.

UF students residing out-of-state during the COVID-19 pandemic can call the CWC at 352-392-1575 and receive specialized help locating counselors in your area.
Your first step is to call the CWC at 352-392-1575 to set up a Brief Consultation and Referral (BCR) appointment. During that appointment, CWC specialists will discuss your mental health concerns and recommend appropriate resources for your circumstances.
