Join the CWC September 9th through September 13th
Engage in activities focused on building your knowledge on sleep hygiene and create your sleep toolbox! The Gator Zzz Toolbox will include stress relievers, tips for establishing a sleep routine, learn about sleep hygiene, and tools to support our fellow Gators.

2024 Schedule of Events:
Slumber Party at the Plaza
Location: Plaza of The Americas (11:30am-2:00pm)
Students will participate in spinning a wheel with several sleep trivia questions and then get to paint their own terra cota pot and plant seeds that aid in helping with sleep. Students will also get to support fellow Gators by leaving a positive message on sticky notes to provide words of support and encouragement for Gators in need.
Activity(ies):
- Students will spin a wheel and answer a question surrounding sleep hygiene.
- Students will have an opportunity to paint their own terra cot pot and plant seeds that are related to “good sleep.”

Answer The Wake-Up Call: An afternoon with speaker Josh Rivedal
Location: JW Reitz Union Auditorium (12:00 - 1:00pm)
Josh Rivedal:“As founder and creative director of The i'Mpossible Project, he provides advocacy, entertainment, seminars, and peer-to-peer education on suicide prevention, mental health, and, storytelling. He has previously served on the board of directors for the New York City chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and is currently an advisory board member for Elijahʼs Journey: A Jewish Response to Suicide Prevention.”
Put your head to Bed
Location: Virtual/Online (3:00pm-4:00pm)
Zoom-in to learn mindfulness-based activities to manage negative thoughts and develop skills for greater self-acceptance.
Activity(ies):
- Students will participate in Mindfulness based activities.
- Students will choose an object that is tangible for them and describe it to themselves.
- Students will then participate in a five senses exercise.
- Handouts on CWC Services, sleep hygiene, self-care and QPR
Sweet Dreams from the CWC
Location: Reitz Union (12:15pm-2:15pm)
Students will answer a trivia question and then have an opportunity to paint their own sleep mask. Join us at the Reitz Union to paint your own sleep mask to further assist with getting a good night sleep.
Activity(ies):
- Students will paint their own sleep mask.

Even heroes Invest in Rest
Location: Veteran Center (2:30pm to 4pm)
Providing a guided self-compassion meditation with Veteran center students. Providing information on sleep and self-care. Students will also be able to create an essential oil.
Daydreaming About Wellbeing
Location: Career Connections (Innovation Room 1370)
Tabling event located within Career Connections where students can create an essential oil blend to help with self-soothing. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a guided meditation exercise.
Activity(ies):
Students will create an essential oil blend to fill their Gator Wellness Toolbox and participate in a guided meditation.
QPR: Become a Gator Lifesaver
Location: Virtual/Online
Event Description: Zoom-in to learn Question, Persuade, Referral (QPR) techniques to support a fellow gator in distress. These online workshops focus on intervention techniques for those at-risk of suicide.
Activity(ies):
Students will have an opportunity to participate in 1 of 2 scheduled QPR trainings.

LivingWorks safeTALK Training
Location: CWC Radio Road Room #101
LivingWorks safeTALK is a 3.5-4 hour training that equips people to be more alert to someone thinking of suicide and connect them with further help. In LivingWorks safeTALK you will learn how to reach out to someone thinking about suicide and help them keep safe by promptly connecting them to further support.
