Erika has experience working in crisis intervention, addiction, and higher  education. She enjoys providing psycho-education about mental health and wellness. She is also passionate about providing mental health services to first-generation college students and those who come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Erika utilizes a person-centered approach, along with cognitive behavioral and solution-focused techniques to promote a strong therapeutic alliance and the development of effective coping skills.

Approach to Wellness

Erika promotes personal wellness by maintaining a healthy work-life balance. She believes it is vital to have a “life outside of work” through active engagement in hobbies, social connectedness, and spiritual development. She enjoys spending time with her loved ones. She also likes exercising, creative writing, trying new restaurants, and participating in faith-based activities.

Other Activities

Erika is a QPR Certified Gatekeeper Instructor and occasionally provides training in the community regarding suicide warning signs and interventions.
