Professional Interests

The opportunity to connect and work with those dealing with a variety of life experiences such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem/self-worth, religion/spirituality, crisis/trauma, and substance abuse/misuse. I am also passionate about providing mental health services to first generation Black & Caribbean college students.

Approach to Therapy

My approach is to meet people where they are while providing them with a safe, warm, and supportive environment to process and work through life’s experiences and traumas. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques to promote a strong therapeutic alliance with those I serve. While helping them to develop effective coping skills.

Approach to Wellness

I am a firm believer that one cannot pour from an empty cup. Therefore, taking time to do some form of self-care and refilling your cup is not only important but vital. I enjoy going to the beach, binge watching a good series while laying on the sofa, spending time and traveling with family and friends.
