Intended Audience: UF Students, Faculty, & Staff
You are invited to sign-up to participate in CWC's 1st Pop-Up Doc campus event. This event will provide an opportunity for our campus community to get a "taste" of an embedded counselor experience.
In an embedded model, counseling center clinicians are housed in a specific department or college of the university. Embedded counselors primarily offer counseling services to students within the department or college they serve. And this often provides opportunity for them to better understand the unique needs of students in the areas where they are based.
During the Pop-Up Doc event, colleges/departments can sign-up to receive an embedded counseling service for their faculty, staff, and students. CWC providers are available to provide one of the following services for your area/department:
NOTE: This is a hybrid event both in-person (at the respective college/department) and virtually.
Pop-Up Doc presentations are educational and didactic talks focused on important topics related to collegiate mental health. Topics may include areas like top concerns impacting college students, benefits of participating in counseling, connection between mental health and academic accomplishment, trauma and mental health, etc.
Pop-Up Doc Workshops offer a combination of interactive activities, presentation, and discussion to assist attendees in developing knowledge/skills in a specific area which supports mental health. Topics may include coping with anxiety/mood, time management, self-care, managing imposter syndrome, improving communication skills, etc.
Pop-Up Doc Student Consultations provide individual space for students to meet 1:1 with a CWC provider for consultation around mental health. CWC consultants can provide information and connect students to resources as needed. Consultants will have an opportunity to consult with the college/department prior to the scheduled workshop date to align content with the needs of the students in their respective area.
Pop-up Doc Faculty/Staff Consultations provide individual or group space for faculty/staff to meet with a CWC provider for consultation on supporting the mental health needs of UF students. Faculty/Staff may present with questions around identifying & supporting students in distress, best practices for encouraging students to practice self-care, etc. Consultants will have an opportunity to consult with the college/department prior to the scheduled workshop date to align content with the needs of the students in their respective area.
NOTE: Colleges/Departments who schedule an in-person Pop-Up Doc service, will be asked to provide a private office space for 1:1 consultation.
