Professional Interests

I have a special interest in crisis counseling and intervention, trauma, suicide prevention and education, and helping those struggling with interpersonal relationships, adjustment and life transitions, anxiety, stress, grief and loss, and self-esteem.

Approach to Therapy

I have a person-centered, strength-based, solution focused approach to therapy. I provide a safe space and a therapeutic relationship that allows for collaboration, but with the understanding that the client decides the direction and exploration in therapy. My approach is also trauma informed and interventions are based on client’s needs, goals, and strengths.

Approach to Supervision

Collaboration, respect, consultation, and support. I am a proponent of learning by both observation and doing. I believe supervision should allow for observation and inquiry throughout the process and plenty of practice and processing (discussion and exploration throughout supervision).

Approach to Wellness

It is all about balance and self-care. I love my work, but I also really love my people. Relationships with friends and family, especially my kids, are the most enriching part of my life. I also love film, literature, theater, and my two cats, Marvel and Maylee.
I believe in the power of great books as the perfect escape.
I believe a cat on your lap is one of life’s greatest comforts.
I believe in the healing power of laughter to soothe our souls, even in the darkest times.

Other Activities

I am passionate about performing in local theatrical productions and have done so for many years.
And, although I haven’t raced in two years, I’ve been an avid runner for the past decade, running marathons and countless half-marathons.
