Professional Interests

Gianella’s professional interests include neuropsychological assessment, group therapy, psychotherapy with Latinx populations, cultural identity development, OCD & anxiety.

Approach to Therapy

Gianella values creating an egalitarian therapeutic relationship and actively seeks to provide a safe, open, empathic, and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their identities and confront distressing thoughts and emotions. She strives to empower clients to view themselves as the expert of their experiences and promote value-driven behaviors.

Approach to Supervision

Gianella’s approach to supervision is developmental, collaborative, and trainee centered. Gianella believes creating a supportive environment is essential to help trainees continue to grow and explore their professional identity. She values trainee’s interests and experiences to create goals, identify growth areas, and practice cultural humility.

Approach to Wellness

Gianella believes building community is key to promoting wellness. She believes feeling a sense of belonging supports people to take care of themselves physically and mentally.

Other Activities

In her free time, she enjoys learning Portuguese and going to ALL UF games, but basketball is her favorite! Go Gators!
