Professional Interests
Dr. López’s interests include trauma work, intensive support care, grief and loss, personality, mindfulness, sexuality, sexual dysfunction, and art therapy. She is passionate about creating a therapeutic space that fosters emotional expression, personal insight, and holistic healing through both verbal and creative modalities.
Approach to Therapy
She takes an eclectic therapeutic approach, tailoring her work to the unique needs of each individual. She integrates biopsychosocial, humanistic, and affirming models to create a safe, respectful, and collaborative space where clients can explore their experiences and move toward greater emotional wellbeing. She provides individual, couples, and group therapy, as well as psychological evaluations, adapting her interventions with clinical sensitivity and ethical commitment. She strongly believes in the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for change and supports each person with empathy, respect, and authenticity.
Approach to Supervision
Her approach to supervision is developmental, collaborative, and grounded in mutual respect. She strives to create a supportive environment where supervisees feel safe to explore their clinical work, reflect on their personal and professional growth, and build confidence in their therapeutic identity. She incorporates self-reflection, cultural humility, and interpersonal process into supervision, encouraging critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and attunement to both client and therapist dynamics.
Approach to Wellness
Her approach to wellness is holistic and grounded in the understanding that emotional, physical, social, and spiritual aspects of health are deeply interconnected. She strives to cultivate balance, self-awareness, and resilience—both in herself and in the work, she does with others—by integrating mindfulness, creative expression, and personalized strategies for coping and growth. She believes that wellness is not a fixed destination, but an ongoing, dynamic process that honors each person’s unique identity, values, and life experience.
