Professional Interests
My professional clinical interests include life transitions, relationship issues, crisis intervention, addictions, abuse, trauma, suicide awareness and prevention and grief and bereavement. I enjoy working with clients in individual, couples, and group therapy settings.
Approach to Therapy
My approach is person-centered applying a culturally sensitive approach and engaging with clients from a trauma-informed perspective. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment for clients to share and express. I collaborate with clients to use their strengths and resources to explore personal experiences toward growth, development and meaning to heal and nurture perseverance. My clinical work draws from internal family systems, positive psychology, solution-focused therapy, Gestalt therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, reality based, compassion focused and mindfulness informed therapies.
Approach to Wellness
I enjoy spending time with family and friends, trying new foods, cooking, kayaking, hiking, going on adventures and listening to audio books.
Other Activities
I am a mental health counselor who has worked in a variety of mental health settings and with diverse populations. I have also used outdoor, experiential, adventure, recreational and expressive therapy approaches in working with clients.
