Dear family and friends of a UF student, we know that studying at UF is an exciting period. Yet, higher education has its unique stressors. Your student is likely to face various challenges some of which may alert and/or impact you. On this page we have highlighted certain topics that may matter to you as you support your student through their studies at UF.
We appreciate that you are an important part of our students’ wellness and success and we are here to support you. Staff members of CWC are available to consult with family members on issues related to the emotional and psychological well-being of individual students.
Please call 352-392-1575 or stop by our office if you would like to consult with a CWC staff member.
Services & Resources
Consultation
If you are a family member or friend of a UF student and are concerned about your student’s well-being, please call CWC to consult about how to support your student and available resources.
Due to confidentiality issues, we cannot acknowledge that we know your student even if the student disclosed to you that they are a client in our system unless a release form is signed by your student.
However we can
- Review and clarify your concerns
- Identify resources
- Assist you in making a plan of action
- Guide you in how to refer your student to the CWC
If you would like a UF official to contact your student to initiate a conversation about your concerns, please contact UF Dean of Students Office Care Area (DSO) and ask to speak with a Care Area professional staff. The DSO Care Area is also another resource to help process your concerns and they can identify resources to further assist your student.
