A space where Black *Womxn share a message, spoken word or poem with their experiences. Creating spaces of hope and relief, to honor a black *womxn's lens. This event was held on 7/21/21.

The R&R event is here to celebrate the vastness of the experiences, struggles, triumphs, power, and beauty of the Black *Womxn in this space and beyond. This is an opportunity for UF students’ life experiences to transform and expand the hearts and minds of us all. One of the main purposes of this event is to listen to the embodied wisdom of Black *Womxn. * the term womxn intentionally includes femme/feminine-identifying genderqueer, gender nonconforming, intersex, non-binary individuals, and cis-gender women. Cis-gender refers to someone's gender identity and/or expression being aligned with their sex assigned at birth. This event was envisioned and Emcee’ed by Rakeem Robinson, PhD student in the College of Journalism and Communications, in collaboration with the UF CWC Outreach team. Special Thank You to Dr. Rosa West and Dr. Ebony Okafor for supporting this outreach effort so deeply and meaningfully, and Dr. Okafor for her heartfelt intro!

Content Warning: Content within this event references Misogynoir, Sexual Trauma, Colorism, etc.
