Born in Puerto Rico, Dr. Rodriguez started her educational journey at the Universidad de Puerto Rico Recinto de Mayaguez completing her B.S. in Science Biology. She proceeded to gain her M.D. from the Universidad Catholic Madre y Maestra Dominican Republic. Dr. Rodriguez entered her Residency education here at the University of Florida in our Adult Psychiatry division in 2007.
Dr. Rodriguez is Board certified with the American Psychiatry Association. She holds several certifications/licensure including Baker act online training course certification and Suicide prevention course certification.
Dr. Rodriguez is interested in psychotic disorders and the chronically ill patients. She has spent a lot of time with the homeless mentally ill. Her other area of passion is helping undergraduate and graduate students with mental illness. “Many of these patients are away from home for the first time, and having a mental illness during this time makes this transition even harder.”
