Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Clinical Assistant Professor

As an undergraduate Dr. Lewis studied stateside and abroad, including twice in Germany. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of New Mexico. She earned her master’s degree from Illinois State University, in the state of her birth. After working in counseling, student affairs, and faculty positions in Illinois, New York, and Iowa, Dr. Lewis relocated to Gainesville and received her PhD in Counselor Education from University of Florida.


As a licensed mental health counselor her areas of interest/specialization include grief/bereavement, trauma on the college campus, LGBTQ issues, depression, and HIV/AIDS.
