Professional Interests

Dr. Clarke’s professional interests include group counseling, clinical training and supervision, Black Psychology, Caribbean Psychology, Liberation Psychology, and holistic wellness. 

Approach to Therapy

Dr. Clarke’s approach to therapy is integrative and incorporates psychodynamicrelationalcultural and skills-based theories. Dr. Clarke believes that deep connectionawareness, and trust in one’s true self is the antidote to the disconnection and trauma patterns that develop in one’s life. Dr. Clarke’s aims to support clients on their journey of wellness through fostering curiosity, and increased awareness, about one’s true self and the factors that enhance and impede their wellbeing. Therapy with Dr. Clarke is collaborative, affirming and focused on you tapping into your own inner power and intelligence.  

Approach to Supervision

Dr. Clarke approach to supervision is developmental and trainee-centered. She aspires for the trainee to develop their own authentic therapeutic styleDr. Clarke strongly believes in building a trusting, open, supervisory relationship that allows supervision meetings to dynamically shift focus between client, supervisee, therapeutic dyad and the supervision dyad. Her view of supervision is that supervisees will not only develop strong clinical and conceptualization skills but would all develop and integrated and authentic clinical identity.  

Approach to Wellness

Dr. Clarke values holistic wellness and and believes this is maintained through finding balance in how we engage with life demands and tend to our personal needs and desires. She enjoys spending time with loved ones, listening to music (R&B and Soca are favorites), dancing, traveling, practicing mindfulness, yoga and being in nature.
