Approach to Therapy
Dr. Clarke’s approach to therapy is integrative and she often incorporates a number of insight-oriented, relational, and skills based interventions based on the client’s needs. Dr. Clarke’s hope is that after engaging in therapy, students will have a better understanding of the intrapsychic, interpersonal and socio-cultural factors that impede their wellbeing while activating current (and often new) skills and strengths to promote wellness.
Approach to Supervision
Dr. Clarke uses a psychodynamic (supervisory-matrix centered) approach to supervision in that, the supervisory process involves shifting focus between the client, supervisee, therapeutic dyad and the supervisory dyad. Dr. Clarke’s also strongly believes in building a trusting, open, and collaborative supervisory relationship.
Approach to Wellness
Dr. Clarke enjoys spending time with loved ones, listening to music (90’s R&B and Soca are favorites), traveling, yoga and being in nature.
